A careful man I must be,
Little children follow me.
I do not dare go astray,
For they will go the self-same way.
I cannot escape their watchful eye,
Whatever they see me do, they try.
Like me they say they’re going to be,
Little children who follow me.
I must remember as I go,
Through summer suns and winter snows,
As I am building, for the years to be,
That little children follow me.
